EDUCATION IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES

What is education like in a third world country? Third world countries are poor and technology is still in the past. There are developments in few areas but not the vast majority. Most people can’t afford laptops let alone ipad, the large community tend to rely on cyber cafĂ©’s which charge for this service. Wifi is available in a few hot pots but only chosen few can access this service.

How are children taught? Children are taught in the old fashion way, in some parts of the country, a classroom is under a tree, lack of resources like blackboards. The Government has an incentive to provide laptops but not even the teachers have the knowledge to use them.

What sort of class sizes do they have? The classes in some areas have a ratio of 40 pupils to one teacher; one class room and not enough resources to aid teaching.

How do children learn In and out of schools? Extra-curricular activities like sports take up most of times out of classroom; advantage of this is good weather outdoor in most tropical countries.

What sort of things do they learn about? Children learn about numbers, money management, IT using computers, Religion, etc.

Technology is Good in some areas but not even accessibility in rural parts of the country. The urban areas seem to have developed a lot and engaged with modern technology. a lot more needs to be done to improve teaching in third world countries.
