LEARNING
I'm reflecting back to the beginning of term when class was presented with this assignment. It sounded so difficult for me even to get started. How much little knowledge i had about creating a blog and how much i have learnt since then. Having to complete the assignment meant that i had to make time to work on this project and present it in the best way possible. I have learnt to animate, make a movie, create a picture story (upload the same on my blog),evaluate a website, the list is endless, the best thing out if this all is the confidence that i have gained when navigating a glog, I follow other glogs and make this an everyday thing, I find it really cool. I have had other assignments presented as a e-journal porfolio of work and the knowledge has been put to great use. I have enjoyed this module, i have learnt plenty to do with blogging. Learning happens when we are aware or not aware, i would never have imagined that i would be able to confidently create a blog on my own. By constantly trial and error i landed with knowledge that i required to move on. Learning is an aspect of life that doesn't end we learn new things in our live all the time.

Instagram is a web 2 tool similar to face book but only pictures apply. It is a fun, beautiful and fast way to share your life with your family relations and friends. You can upload pictures of moments that you want to share with selected people on your account. You can upload videos, capture a moment and comment but you cannot exchange messages as in face book. You can tag people's pictures as in face book, you can also comment on a picture that you like. You can follow individual friend, companies and businesses. If you are a fun of boots pharmaceutical stores and they are available on instagram, you can follow them and gain access to products and any offer available in store. Instagram therefore is a great effective marketing tool. Over 150 million users have rated instagram a five star gadget that everyone needs to have. It is a simple way to capture the world's moments, even on your android phone and share with the rest of the world. the disadvantage of instagram is that unlike face book you can't send free messages to friend or family hence you can't have instant chat like face book and Skype. It is however free to sign on and it is also quick to get started.
WEB 2
Web2 is a buzzword used to describe advanced Internet technology communications and applications that are currently coming up, these include blogs, wiki's and social bookmarking etc. it can also be described as a new wave of powerful websites that bring browsing closer to the desktop. The nature of this technology makes it easier and popular way for people to communicate their information to a selected group of people or to a much larger audience. This is a great tool to communicate with between students, teachers, staff and wider community in a higher education learning environment. it can prove to be very effective in research, communication between students undertaking group work and teachers a good example is a wiki. The popular web2 websites are face book, my space, you tube and flickr. Many more are still being invented like intagram etc. the pros of using of using a web 2 to communicate is that they are very fast, effective and reliable way to communicate therefore they have become very popular means of keeping in touch. some cons are that there are horrible people out that just decide to become cyber bullies, they use these web2 sites to scheme their evil doings and prey on innocent users! i would therefore recommend that users be extremely careful with personal information.
ANNIMATION.
Interesting topic we use 2animate; a software to create/draw a picture then animate the picture, the picture then becomes a motion as in a movie. New concept for me but has been great fun learning and being creative. I agree this can be a great tool for children's learning as well as introducing them to the world of animation and using the computer. The children will be pleased with this kind of learning which I'm sure they will find fun! they can draw pictures of anything and shapes, they can play about with colours, they can scan images etc. 2animate is easy to navigate, there are example videos to guide the user. You do not need to register to use this program. It is available for use among other programs, you can also download a free trial version. Multi media yes you can upload videos.
EDUCATIONAL BLOG REVIEW
http://www.forestschoolsblog.com/
Forest school is a classroom taken out of a school environment, where children carry on learning from their surrounding environment. Cchildren learn effectively through doing things; e.g role play, exploration and curiosity is cured by play. Children with ADHD can benefit a lot through learning outdoors. Plenty other pros of learning outdoor. Children become more active and express themselves more. Spacious and reserved learning outdoor creates room for exploration and innovation. Children also master new skills that cannot be taught in the classroom like handing real fire. an example of a young boy who learnt to make food using direct fire is an inspiring story, knowing that they are aware of the consequences of misuse.
Igniting minds is an interesting topic at a forest school kindergarten safe fire behaviour session. Children 2 and 3 year old children can benefit from fire rather than develop a fear for it. Mothers can relax, due to the trust that they have built for their toddlers and practitioners. They know that their children are confident and understand the boundaries and dangers of handling fire. These children are aware that if they respect the code of behaviour they can do more. They learn more at the same time and also develop skills like cooking.

GLOGSTER;EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT.
The website that i have chosen to review is http://www.Glogster.com/. first impression always leaves a lasting impression! This blog is attractive and very colourful. It has various interesting links and interlinks. Among the interesting things to do are games and competitions to win some free bees. Glogster has been voted the best on line educational tool in the US. I totally understand why this has come about, the website is full of educational contents. Useful links to inspire, engage, excite and connect both students and teachers. signing up to the website is a simple and quick step! encouraging not too many fields to required to get you in and started. Glogster is a fun website, you can be innovative and creative as much as you possible can. creativity is learning therefore i would recommend this website as well for any students ready to adventure with technology. Useful for teachers of IT as well, new pop ups of creative ways of doing things. This is a great site for technology using educators, teachers can share and build their professional experience. The den is a video which highlights plights of teachers with a passion to teach, they get a chance to communicate and collaborate and learn together.

EDUCATION IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES
What is education like in a third world country? Third world
countries are poor and technology is still in the past. There are developments
in few areas but not the vast majority. Most people can’t afford laptops let
alone ipad, the large community tend to rely on cyber cafĂ©’s which charge for this
service. Wifi is available in a few hot pots but only chosen few can access
this service.
How are children taught? Children are taught in the old
fashion way, in some parts of the country, a classroom is under a tree, lack of resources
like blackboards. The Government has an incentive to provide laptops but not
even the teachers have the knowledge to use them.
What sort of class sizes do they have? The classes in some
areas have a ratio of 40 pupils to one teacher; one class room and not enough
resources to aid teaching.
How do children learn
In and out of schools? Extra-curricular activities like sports take up most of
times out of classroom; advantage of this is good weather outdoor in most
tropical countries.
What sort of things
do they learn about? Children learn about numbers, money management, IT using computers, Religion, etc.
Technology is Good in some areas but not even accessibility
in rural parts of the country. The urban areas seem to have developed a lot and
engaged with modern technology. a lot more needs to be done to improve teaching in third world countries.

COMPLETING CAROLINE'S ASSIGNMENT
Reflective blog;
In this assignment we are expected to complete an individual blog journal as an online portfolio of our work. students are expected to reflect on what they have learnt in this module '21st Century learning theories and contexts'. Flexibility to include practical experiences where appropriate for example a previous work expereince. Four main contexts are expected at the end of assignment; my chosen ones are: Montessori education, Key-stage 2 and secondary, Reggio approach and Play and the early years. This assignment is going to be fun to complete; after learning about creating our own blogs in visual communication lessons (IT). Creating a blog involves importing video's, embedding them onto our blog, similar to pictures and text. Interesting elements that we include in our blog will add marks. I am focussing on how i created my own blog for ideas, also looking at other educational blogs and learning how to present my assignment in the most interesting way. Great suport from IT teacher in this assignment just when i needed it, my confidence had multiplied since and now navigating my way through the pages is easier. I have developed skills in searching for data from the world wide web and tranfer it to my blog. In future, i can undertake similar assignments in this course with much confidence and knowledge of what i'm doing, makes more sense.

TED TALKS
Charles Leadbeater: Education innovation in the slums
Where would you look to see the future of education? Charles Leadbeater empasises that with current sattistics he would head for Finland; atleast in the last 20 years they have showed qualifications in their education system. Radical new forms of education sometimes are found in very strange places, Charles ended up in Monkey hill in Rio, Brazil and Kibera in Nairobi Kenya which has the fastest growing young population of the world. The innovation of using computers to learn has proved to provide transformative new ways of learning, he argues that this is how schools are meant to be now, he stresses that the idea of a cirriculum isn't very effective.learning is treated as something productive not academic! learning is made fun to open doors to innovation and create passionate amateurs who act like proffessionals. The slums needs more computer orinted learning and modern technology and not the curriculum. Education systems have failed to reach the people that they should and hit their targets but missed their point. Sustaining innovation will sustain existing instituitions and improve the whole learning experience within the city slums. more schools should reinvent themselves and view its features of learning. Efforts to supplement schools like Reggio Emillia ways of learning that support entire culture should be encouraged.Completely new and radical thinking deployed.

STUDENTS TODAY
This is a short clip about two and half minutes telling a story about learning in my University; University of Wales Trinity St Davids. The task requires my class to create a short movie on i'movie programme about students vision today at University. We have highlighted different areas and facilities available within our campus. This emphasisesed the use of IT skills to create the movie; also involved taking still picture and videos, editing text into the clips and motion to creat the final movie. A very interesting task in this two hour IT session; This was a very emotional session for me as we had our Tutor Mandy Peace for the last time in this module. Next term we embark on a new module and meeting a new member of staff! bohoo, I will miss this module and i thanks Many for continued support during this module. As we prepare for one exam and finish our assignment for IT i will remember all the tips for learning that have been passed on to me and i do appreciate all that i have learnt especially in IT which was not one of my strong areas. I feel confident exploring my blog now and editing as i go along. Below is my finished video.

PHOTO STORY
My First Hair Brush!
What is this....Is it a toy?
Can i try....
For you? You try?
It's for me...
I like it!! Thank you..
Lovely for my hair!!
This is my photo story, my intention is to create a story about my daughter's first hair brush. I discovered that i had many different shots of her fiddling with her new gadget that she had met, Natasha is in the stage of growth where she is finding textures very interesting. Sensory motor skills? she feels all textures that comes across, tries it out with her mouth and all. Bang! my moment of a completed assignment! In this assignment we need to produce a story with still pictures only no video or animation. The photos must be individually taken, the theme and backgrounds has to the same and the story has to make sense. As i presented Natasha with her present i dint not know the end product of this moment, i just took shots one after the other of her reactions! I came up with the idea later as i was looking at the photos. I was glad to have killed two birds with one stone! job done.
