Introduction to learning theories and contexts

Education starts even before birth; a foetus developing in their mother's womb; can feel, hear and connect to the world before they are born. School is part of Education but much learning takes place in various other contexts. Infants learn through interactions with their parents, siblings other family member’s and the society. Each context of learning has its unique features and results. The Learning takes place all around us sometimes even when we are not aware that we are learning. Learning is a lifelong process and whatever form it presents itself it evolves as a continuous process that should be encouraged and preserved. Learning should be fun; thus the need for variety of ways in which different people can learn. There are different theories, philosophies, concepts and contexts of learning. This reflective blog will explore some educational contexts of learning and evaluate their significant features and successes. It also highlights distinctive features of various styles of learning and their products. These are some of the contexts of learning that i have experienced previously during my work and currently studying in my first year of Education studies course.
